Ann and Andy

I grew up with a little Raggedy Ann doll. My husband thinks they’re scary, but I always loved lifting up the shirt of my doll and seeing the little heart on her chest. It was like a secret we shared. I could always look, and I would know that I was loved, a gift from my mother. I found these two together amongst many other Raggedy Ann dolls at an antique store, but these two seemed like quite the pair.

Pins and cushions

I found these pincushions at an antique store and nostalgia drew me in. I recognize those pincushions – I grew up with my mother having pins stuck in one while she sewed. She made me Halloween costumes, doll clothes, and dresses. She hemmed my pants, since I was too short for most of them. I remember she would be upset with me for staying up late when I was young, because then she didn’t have time to knit my doll clothes for my American Girl doll for Christmas.
